Spring is here, and we’ve really been lucky with the weather here in Forsa—we’ve had plenty of sunshine lately. Energy levels are high, and right now we’re fully focused on getting everything ready for Textildagarna in Forsa during Week 19.

Buses from both the south and the north are planning to visit, and we hope that everyone interested in textiles and handicrafts has heard about the event. You won’t want to miss it.

We’ll be offering a wide range of activities so there’s something for everyone.

Highlights from last year that are also included this year:

A historical walking tour with Cia Olsson – a tour where you’ll learn the history behind the factory, how Holma Helsinglands helped build Forsa, where the factory is headed, and what plans are in store for the future.

Weave Knitting with Linda Lötberg – a course where you’ll learn a knitting technique that’s incredibly fun to work with. (Registration required at lindalotberg@hotmail.com)

Knitting with Linen with Karin Öberg – a course where you’ll learn tips on knitting with linen. (Registration required at bockens.garner@holma.se)

What's new this year:

Exhibition by the Handarbetets Vänner School from Stockholm

The Embroidery Academy – they’re kicking off the week with an incredibly fun workshop. Wednesday, May 6, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:00–3:00 p.m.
Embroider on clothing. No advance registration required. Bring your own garment to embroider on, along with a needle and thread.

Swedish Textile – is hosting a lecture on Saturday, will be on site every day, and will discuss wool and the future. They will also be selling the first edition of their Swedish wool yarn.

Elisabeth Fransson – exhibits her work and talks about flax and its history.
