Create with the colors of autumn.

Create with the colors of autumn - weaving, knitting & embroidery 🍂

Autumn is the season that offers the most inspiration for those of us who love needlework. When nature is filled with tones of rust, mustard yellow, forest green and burgundy, it feels almost natural to bring the colors into our creative projects.

Here's some inspiration on what your next project could be.

Knitting - warming garments in rich shades
There are few things that beat the feeling of knitting a warm shawl, a pair of new ones waiting or why not a warm blanket until the cold winds come.
The fall color palette makes even simple patterns come alive. A simple scarf in striped autumn colors can quickly become a wardrobe favorite.
Klippans Tuna wool yarn and our fantastic lovikka are perfect for these projects. If you don't want such a thick shawl or sweater, we recommend Klippan's Mora wool yarn and Bocken's furniture rat.

Weaving - creating atmosphere for the home
Weaving is a great way to work with the fall palette. Changing up your rugs, cushions and runners does a lot for the feel of your home and ideally if you wove everything yourself.

Another fun weave to decorate your home with is wall hangings. You can really let your imagination run wild and mix different qualities such as wool and linen in different earthy tones.
Muted colors give a sense of calm and make the home extra cozy when darkness falls, but mixing in some bright colors creates a wonderful contrast.
Embroidery - details that capture nature
Autumn leaves, acorns and flowers in transition are perfect motifs for embroidery. With threads in different colors, you can decorate everything from cushion covers to tote bags. The embroidery will be a small reminder of the beauty of the season, even when the leaves outside have fallen.
